RachelCatrina.net Electro Aesthetic Spectrum Exclusive!
RachelCatrina.net is a new project in 2009 for Creator / Photographer Rachel Shipman. Her projects and endeavors in the Baton Rouge greater area have turned an interest to a career as a professional photographer. Her work is now up and streaming on her new personal portfolio site and EaestheticS wants to start the show off Right!!



RACHEL! It feels like forever since we worked on anything together. Time for introductions so lay it on us:
"I took my first photography class in the 9th grade at West Orange High School. Approximately 8 years later I bought my first Nikon and began seriously learning and studying the art. "

 Tell me about your arsenal? whatts your weapon of choice?: "I shoot with Nikon Products. Not for any specific reason, that just happened to be what I bought."


Aiight. so what is the schedule like? when do you take photos?: "It depends on when a shoot is. I tend to schedule shoots one to two weeks in advance. Otherwise, I just get the itch. I'll pull out my camera and stalk some cats for a few hours or until they become so irritated with me they hide all together." Stalking cats? "Sometimes, I just have an afternoon free and take a ride, Where ever I end up is what I photograph. A good example of this is the Louisiana Section of my portfolio. "

Is there a time of the year you cant put you camera down?: "Usually I use my camera the most around Parade holidays. Living in Louisiana allows for some awesome street photography. Especially, around Mardi Gras and St. Patricks day."

What have you been up to this year?: "This year I've decided to return to LSU as a photography major. I've continued several model shoots as a way to grow and learn."

 

Do you see any collaborations around the corner? Other artists or models we can talk about?: "There's always collaborations around the corner. A few in which, I'd rather keep secret until finished. "

Secrets! Well uhm..What else have you been up to? Shout outs? to my family for always supporting my dreams and aspirations. My Photography teacher Kenneth Wilks for getting my feet wet. My Tang Soo do family for putting up with all of my antics. And of course EaS for making my dreams a reality.
