Raekwon the Chef and other Wu Drama

Rae has always been one of my most favorite members of the Wu-Tang Since the days of Playstation 1 Wu-Tang Shaolin style.  Once in june of 2009 he even tweeted me back to talk about his shadowboxing style..  well lately the internet has been abuzz about the Single Press Wu Album. Well evidently Rae had some things to say about the whole operation and has since went “on strike” (the words of some interviewer). This morning over coffee i was listening to RZA talk about the situation on the HOT97 morning show which i have linked up in this post. They get to the Chef at about 15:20.

The Wu is seriously one of my favorite collectives for the last 20 years. I can only imagine that working with such a large number of talented and strong minded individuals is going to have its ups and downs but to date has produced nothing but the most incredible hip hop and rap innovation since the game got started. The WU has already achieved legendary status but i would hate to see the pages of history water down or reflect poorly on the clan because of some creative differences between core members. Best of luck to the whole crew from the abbot down to the lowest level of killer bee. WU TANG IS FOREVER
